We collect as little as we can, and the most sensitive answers never reach our server.

When you visit

Our own analytics, not an ad network, records how the site is used:

  • a random visitor number stored in your browser, and a visit number that resets after 30 minutes away;
  • the pages you open, their titles, how long each stays on screen and how far you scroll;
  • where the visit came from (the referring site and campaign tags in the link), your screen size, browser language, time zone and whether the device has a touch screen.

Link parameters that can carry personal data, such as an email address, a token or a code, are removed before anything is sent. The analytics do not use cookies and are not shared with advertisers.

Your checklist

When you tick steps on a state checklist, the ticks are saved in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

When you buy

An order keeps your email address, the product, the state and the document you chose, the price and the payment status, so we can send the receipt, open your order link and handle refunds. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

Sensitive answers you give to fill in a form, such as a Social Security number, date of birth, parents’ names or a passport number, stay in the browser tab where you type them. The document is generated in your browser, and those answers are not sent to our server or to our analytics.

Email

We send the receipt and the order link by email through an email delivery provider. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.

Your choices

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email [email protected] from the address on your order. Order records we must keep for accounting or refunds are kept only for that purpose.
