Questions about New Hampshire
Where do you get a certified New Hampshire marriage certificate?
Any of the 234 city and town clerks, or the Division of Vital Records Administration in Concord. You need a direct and tangible interest in the record, which the spouses have, and photo identification.
The first copy is a $15 search fee, charged even if nothing is found; extra copies of the same record bought at the same time are $10 each.2
How soon must you report a new name to the New Hampshire DMV?
Within 30 days, under RSA 263:9. Mailed requests are refused: book an appointment at any DMV office and bring the signed Record Change Request (DSMV 30), your current New Hampshire license and the marriage certificate.1

No. You turn in the current license and the DMV issues a replacement with a new photo and signature at no charge. You drive on a 60-day paper license until the permanent one arrives by mail.1
How do you handle voter registration in New Hampshire after a name change?
Registration runs through your town or city clerk and the supervisors of the checklist, in person. If a proof document is still in your former name, the state’s guidance asks for proof of the change, and a marriage certificate usually works.
The supervisors hold their last pre-election session 6 to 13 days before a state election, and you can also register at your polling place on Election Day.5–7
